This trip will take you through the mekong delta, visit the scenic land of Tra Vinh and Soc Trang, where the Khmer community lived for centuries with interesting traditional culture. From SocTrang, you keep on about 35km to TranDe estuary – the mekong river meet the ocean. From TranDe boat quay, we take the speed boat Superdong to Con Dao island. Con Dao island is a paradise beach for couple and family relaxing trip. Formerly, you have to fly to the island or take 12 hours speed boat from Vung Tau city, now it takes only 2.5 hours. It’s a perfect trip from Mekong delta to Con Dao islands.

Day 1 : Saigon – Cai Be – Can Tho (Lunch)
We depart at 8:00am and head south to the river town of Cai Be, a rural district of Tien Giang province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. Arriving at around 10:30am, we board our motorized boat to journey through Cai Be floating market. Here, we will experience how life functions on the delta, as we view the intricacies of commerce – how merchants purchase products from local farmers. As you cruise by CaiBe bridge, you will see on the packaging shop that all the boat with fruits landing here. These boxes will be load up to trucks for transport up north to many provinces.

During our cruise the town’s secluded canals, we will stop at some local factories to see locals making pop rice cakes, rice paper cakes, coconut candies and products from coconut trees. We also enjoy sampan ride and pedal down narrow natural waterways. Stopping at a local home to try seasonal fruits (such as longan, pineapple, watermelon, rambutan, papaya, jackfruit etc…). Continue walking through the village to get back to our boat which is waiting to bring us to another local house for lunch served with many Vietnamese’s delicious dishes.

Time to relax, then we board the boat again to keep on to the quay in Vinh Long province. Transfer by car to Can Tho, passing Can Tho bridge, a cable-stayed bridge over the Hau ( Tonle Bassac) river. Overnight in Can Tho.

Day 2: CanTho – SocTrang  (Breakfast, lunch)
An early start for a boat trip to Cai Rang floating market, the largest wholesale market in the Mekong Delta. It starts at 5:00am and runs until midday. Of course now this market is not crowded and busy as it was before, but still interesting experience for people who do not live in Mekong delta area. Then we have a long distance cruise to Phong Dien in winding natural waterways. Our guide will stop in between for you to walk on a quiet country road to take in the magnificent scenery, see several kinds of fruit tree and get close to the locals as they go about their daily routine.

Our van pick us up and head on to a local restaurant for lunch break. Then we keep on about one hour to Soc Trang. After check in hotel in SocTrang, we will visit Chua Doi pagoda, a special Khmer pagoda with thousands of bats clinging on the tree. Then we promenade around Khleng pagoda, an oldest pagoda in town and walk around town center market.
Soc Trang was first widely used before the reign of King Minh Mang. According to scholar Truong Vinh Ky, Soc Trang in the way called Khmer Sroc Khleang means treasure.  According to Vương Hồng Sển, there is a treasure of Khmer king in Hoa Mỹ village (Mỹ Xuyên district). There is a theory that the first inhabitants of this land after the harvest they collect the products to be retained for use gradually, but because of robbery so they gathered into a big warehouse and take turns to protect and preserve. Sóc Trăng during Minh Mạng reign was called Nguyệt Giang. Then renamed Ba Xuyen (1835). According to Vuong Hong Sen, the word “Sóc” has ” ^ ” as ” Sốc ” correct pronunciation of the Khmer: Srok Khleang, the Chinese pronunciation: Khắc Làng, Vietnamese read into Soc Trang. This town has shortest distance to Con Dao island, it’s best to take a trip through Mekong delta to Con Dao islands.

Day 3: SocTrang – Con Dao islands  (Breakfast)
After breakfast at the hotel, we transfer half an hour to TranDe ferry for catching the speed boat Superdong to Con Dao islands. End of tour.
